MY Thanksgiving Look

Thanksgiving dressing can be a great variation on dressing up, as it definitely isn’t the same as a night out with friends, a date, or a cocktail party. Finding a Thanksgiving look that gives meaning to the day, while not being overbearing can be difficult, so I’m giving thanks to you, my readers, and sharing what I do from head to toe.

Hair: I have really curly, but unruly hair. So, after letting it air dry, and rubbing in a copulent amount of Bumble and Bumble grooming cream, I used a Chi Turbo to straighten it. Then I followed it up with a 1″ curling iron to make piecey pieces around my head, and topped this off with a generous amount of hairspray which I tossed in my bag.

Makeup: I always wear Bare Escentuals, even when modeling. So, today is no different. I use a Kabuki brush to apply medium foundation powder, which I touch up with a concealing brush. Then I dust on a layer of Bare Radiance to bring out a warm, but subtle glow. I have a trick to my cheeks to give my high cheekbones more depth, as I have fleshy cheeks. To do this, I suck my cheeks in while sweeping Warmth down the underside of the cheekbone. Then, I smile and dust Dandelion by Benefit over the apples of my cheeks and up to the hairline. Set with Mineral Veil. For eyes, I lightly lie with a black Mac pencil. Then I sweep a golden shadow over my lids, with a taupe for shading in the corner. To really brighten eyes, I dab a tiny bit of white shadow in the inner corner of the eyes. I finish this up with a sweep of black Maybelline mascara… you know, the one in the pink tube with the green lid. It is truly the best on the market.

Fashion: I’ve been dieing to wear my charcoal grey Liv trousers since I had them tailored (a necessary evil at 5’9″). I paired this with a simple cream, V-neck sweater. For accessories, I wore my black pumps (I’d be more specific, but I’m still deciding between the patent leather and the classic leather) and black Balenciaga moto bag.

Starrcakes: What? Starry, technically named Rockstarr, and adoringly called Starrcakes is my white teacup Chihuahua. She will be coming with me today, so she is getting dressed to. She takes her shower with me (so much easier), and hates to be brushed, so thankfully she doesn’t’ really need to be. Today she is wearing a Burberry plaid coat.

Now, off to Starbucks for a soy chai tea…
