Hot on the heels of the Miss USA scandal are reports that Miss Teen USA, Katie Blair, will be dropped as a spokewoman for MADD. Come on now, how many of us were drinking underage, or are still underage and drinking. I’m not talking drinking and driving, I’m talking drinking anf clubbing, and then taking a cab home. I’d bet that even though Blair very probably was drinking, she was most likely not driving, and isn’t the goal of MADD not to discourage drinking, but to discourage driving when drunk? Even though Blair was most definitly breaking the law, and setting a less than stellar example for today’s impressionable youth, the one she was not doing was driving drunk. And it seems to me that this might make her an even more suitable candidate as an advocate of MADD.
