I have gotten a lot of responses to my previous post regarding the ban on superskinny models, and I agree… this ban could encourage a healthier, curvier woman, as well. Look at Kirtsie Alley, who I personally believe even at the height of her obesity, to be one of the most beautiful actresses around. The main point I believe we are all striving for is that beauty is more than just a number on the scale. Beauty is a physical and emotional state that is commonly shown through adjectives such as radiating warmth and skin, or long, luscious hair.
As I was trying to discuss, but was probably a bit too self-centered to articulate well, is that thick or thin, a beautiful woman should not be feeling these weight pressures any more. Unlike the desire to cut your hair or buy a new lipstick, issues with weight lead to issues with food. As food is obviously a necessity of life, it is one of the worst things to impose on a woman a feeling of guilt or anger over it.
