Blonde or Brunette?

As a mousy brunette from California, I have longed to be a platinum blonde for as long as I can remember. It all hit me at once that not only were most platinum blondes themselves fake, some were even brunettes. This realization may have been just dandy, but as a poor high school student, I didn’t have the hundreds we all know it takes to maintain platinum hair when you are literally beginning at the other end of the spectrum. So, alas, I did what any other girl in my situation would do. I highlighted. And I highlighted some more. And then I ran out of money, so I continued my highlighting at the local beauty school. And then that became to much, so I continued this little trend at home. And before you knew it, I had the most horrific hair imaginable. Did I mention it is curly, and thus disgusting when bleached to death and then blowdried? Oh yes, and this was before I realized the value of a good ceramic flat iron. I may have always been obsessed with beauty, but that didn’t mean I always looked it. I swore off blond hair forever.

Now, 5 years later, I am getting the itch again. Sure, I could darken my hair and put in some chestnut highlights, and I’m sur eit would look great. But I would probably still look very young, like underage young, and would also probably still be bored. My hair would also probably look like crap after a day in the ocean because sun and salt do nothing for brown hair dyes.

So, like a smart little cookie, I had a friend photoshop the hair I wanted onto my head. Actually, it was more my head onto someone else’s body, but whatever… same effect. I figured seeing it once and for all would appease me. But I like it. And the more I look at it the more I like it.

Here is what I’ve learned: For a brunette going platinum blonde, you will need length, and some funky colors going on. In my case, I would be doing a panel of brunette underneath, as well as soe color chunking thoughout the platinum. Platinum blonde will never look natural. Why fight it? You will also need a deep tan, it seems to help things blend. You will also need to subtly lighten your eyebrows to lighter shade of brown.

Now the ball is in your court? What do you think? Should I go blonde? Let me know what you think, and who knows? The next photo might be completely real.
