I was in Wal-Mart yesterday buying a new curling iron. I needed a 1.5 inch to go along with my 3/4 inch now that my hair has become long enough to curl like La Lohan. Shopping for curling irons has never been hard for me. I splurge on my straightening iron, because I have that unruly, naturally curly hair that never actually forms curls or waves, but just generally looks like crap. Let’s put it this way, stylists don’t even offer to leave it curly. Instead, every stylist I have tries to blow dry it straight, and few can even handle straightening it afterwards.
Anyway, about the curling irons. I have been buying the gold plated Vidal Sasoon (i don’t know if they’re actually gold-plated. I’m assuming not, but you get the idea.) irons for as long as I remember. I don’t know why, but these just seem to do it for me. It may take me an hour to pick out shampoo, but curling irons just don’t seem that hard. I have a friend who swears by Conair. What I ahve learned from this experience is that women are fiercely loyal to their brand of curling irons, and this might make it one of the easist beauty buys you’ll ever have to make.
