This is something I have pretty much never understood. Why do so many sites, even newspapers, charge to run a classified ad. My rationale on this is that if someone is looking to buy something, they will probably be more willing to buy the paper or visit the site based upon the wider ariety of product listed for sale. The other part of this theory is that if you are selling your stuff, more often than not, it is probably not because you are in such a wonderful financial situation. With that said, wouldn’t it make a lot more sense for companies to provide free classified ads?
