Who doesn’t love a closet full of clothes? But what do you with clothes that are no longer needed or worn. They usually get donated, passed down, or, if your like me, they continue to take up space your in your closet until you can no long look at them and they’re thrown away. Native Russian, Daria Isakova, has come up with an online concept, Dasha’s Store, that gives a new twist on giving back.
When asked “Where did the idea for Dasha’s Store originate from?” she had this to say – “The idea came from me having all of these nice brand new clothes that I did not need. I thought I could give them to charity but realized it would be more effective to give money and not the clothes themselves. So I came up with this concept of an online editorial where the shopper could click to buy. ”
The website itself – which feature shoppers being transported from various scenes, convenient checkout, and payment options – is inspired by the Almodavar film “Live Flesh.” Dasha, seen in the picture above, wearing a Vicosa Dress by See by Chloe is one of the many items for purchase.
All proceeds from Dasha’s Store will be donated equally between the Morozovskaya Pediatric Hospital in Russia and the Robin Hood Foundation in New York. Visit http://www.dashastore.com/ or contact her at dashastore@gmail.com for more information.
Dasha hopes the concept will provide a fun way for girls to buy clothes and do something good at the same time. I say – mission accomplished!Kudos to Dasha for thinking out of the box and creating a great concept for giving some great causes! Now, That’s Haute!
