Thigh highs: taking a Clueless look away from last years tights

You would have had to either not been born or living under a rock to not have been completely obsessed with the 90′s cult hit, Clueless. (And perhaps still a bit obsessed… ) Originally derived from Jane Austen’s novel, Emma, which encapsulates the triumphs and woes of an kind and impish young matchmaker, Clueless revolutionized the way girls dressed for school. My Docs took a back seat in the closet and I bought my very first pair of Mia Maryjanes.

In the name of this nationwide endless Indian summer, praise the thigh-high! This fall is all about transition: pairing sweaters, both chunky and light-weight, cotton or cashmere, with soft fabrics of the lingering summer. So keep those silk skirts and denim shorts out and instead of sweltering in wool tights, opt for sheer thigh highs a la Cher.
