The newly formed Los Angeles Fashion Council headed by Kelsi Smith and Devon Poer will officially launch in January 2012 with a series of programming for designers, press, stylists and business owners in the form of conferences, workshops, fashion events and shows. Los Angeles Fashion Council’s goal is to elevate and provide support to LA fashion designers through a unified council, providing a platform for presentation on a local, national and international level, as well as education and funding.
LA fashion designers will get collective access to trade shows, educational workshops, online support, and access to a press database. Any LA based fashion designer that creates at least two collections a year can apply for designer membership to the Los Angeles Fashion Council. Press and buyers can also register and have access to (a must needed) centralized credentialing system for events, workshops, and an image and video database.
Visit www.losangelesfashioncouncil.com for more deets, apply for membership or find out ways you can get invovled.
